Kadir, Cahit Külebi, Sabahattin Kudret Aksal, Attilâ İlhan, Necati Cumalı, Can Yücel, Sabri Altınel, Ümit Yaşar Oğuzcan, Turgut Uyar, Edip Cansever, Cemal Süreya and Onat Kutlar.
Poems on Istanbul gave become on of the main inspirations of our literature and poetry from the Divan era to the contemporary. There is literally no poet who has not touched Istanbul in his oeuvre. Be it a eulogy, an ode, a reproach, they wrote for and on Istanbul with quite differing and even contrasting emotions. Even the slightest sign in the city has become the subject of a great poem.
