One of the pioneers of the Garip [The Destitutes] current, Orhan Veli (1914-1950) gave an output of poems without measures, rhymes, excluding word arts and defying poetic elements of the former tradition. Plain, mind provoking and critical in nature, his poems were mostly concentrated on the daily routines and problems of the ordinary. Influenced by folk poetry and music later on, he preferred to write the love for nature. “A Day Will Come That I’ll Leave Here”, prepared in a thematic integrity blending music and poetry will have our esteemed theater player Müşfik Kenter recite Orhan Veli’s poems accompanied by the compositions of Serdar Yalçın performed by Deniz Erdoğan and Zafer Erdaş.
