One of the distinguished poets of modern Turkish literature and a towering figure with his poems, Ahmet Muhip Dranas (1908–1980) concentrates on establishing an image, a situation and a “moment” in his opems. He achieves this with an emotional intensity using a language and image structure of his very own. Dranas stresses the form in conveying human emotions, longings and memories with this intense imagery and language. His poetic universe indicates a search of oneself among layers of meaning. “All the Love Must Have Gone in A Summer” presents the poet’s works selected thematically with the accompaniment of music in a dramatic style.
