ZEKAİ ORMANCI 19 February 2008
40th Anniversary Exhibition

The 40th Anniversary Exhibition of Zekai Ormancı continues into March. One of the leading representatives of abstract Turkish painting, Ormancı has always been a pioneering figure in art circles with his works and as an instructor and played an important role in contemporary Turkish painting with his abstract works. There is a striking consistency in his works since 1968 and his colored, abstract compositions have justly become select works of our lives. Featuring nearly 60 works from a four-decade period, this exhibition presents examples from different eras of the artist and it is possible to see the strongly balanced form and content structured through the contradiction of what exists and what is made to exist and their probation in respect of plastic value. Having participated tens of national and international group shows, Ormancı has opened 31 solo shows and won many awards. His works are in private and museum collections at home and abroad.

The exhibition is open to visitors between 10.00-19.00 except on sundays and mondays.
