Iñaki Urlezaga Principal Guest Dancer of Dutch National Ballet

A wonderful farewell to 2007 with one of the best dancers in the world. Having started dancing at the age of 8, and beginning a professional career in 1991 following his education in his motherland Argentine, Iñaki Urlezaga would become the principal dancer of the famous Teatro Colón in two years. In March 1995, invited by Anthony Dowel he joined The Royal Ballet of London where he had been principal dancer till the year 2005. Through this period he was able to develop an excellent artistic career with an international perspective. In October 2005, he was invited by Ted Brandsen to join Dutch National Ballet (Holland) as principal guest dancer, a position he still holds. Having danced the title roles in the most important works of the dance repertory for the last 15 years and appeared at all prominent dance festivals as well as Covent Garden, Royal Opera House, London, Metropolitan Opera, Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres, Teatro Alla Scala Milan, Teatro Colón and Parthenon, Urlezaga received countless awards for his magnificent performances. In 2003, as well as continuing his career as Principal Dancer, he has started a choreographic activity creating plays that received excellent press reviews and have been performed at international festivals. Iñaki Urlezaga will be accompanied by the Ballet Concierto which has been continuously performing in the most important theatres and stages in the world since its foundation. The ensemble has the privilege of being the only private company in Argentina that has non-stop performed at Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, since the year 2000. The wonderful Urlezaga and his company ballet Concierto will present a program as wonderful, comprising famous pieces of the ballet repertory at a time when we’re eager to welcome 2008.
